What Are You Looking At? Weekly Link Roundup!

How's your week been?  I've had a crazy one with not enough sleep.  The world conspired against me with spiders in my bed (how can you sleep after that?) and the dog deciding to escape into the neighbours' yard at 11pm with wacky hijinx!  On the plus side, I've had two stories accepted into anthologies this week so yays, go me.

In web surfing news, this is what I've been looking at.

I'm planning a trip back to Tokyo in September with my sister and a friend.  It's still a long way off by it's fun to look at all the options on AirBnB.  It works out much cheaper to rent an apartment than trying to get a configuration of hotel rooms that doesn't drive us crazy plus we get a lot more space to play in.  I'm really swayed by some of the places around Naka-Meguro.  It's a great part of the city but always been a bit annoying to get to from where I've lived before.  Plus it's a great way to have a sticky beak at other people's apartments.

Because I can't wear my red polka dot dress everywhere, this week I ordered this skirt. Yes, it's exactly the same but in skirt form.  Polka dots rule my life.

From Etsy, lingerie that gets straight to the point.  Hey, a girl's got to ask for what she wants!

The Japanese Slipper was invented in Australia.  Who knew?

I've spent far too long this week watching videos of people do Arashi covers on youtube. This one is exceptionally cute.  I feel a bit weird about linking up other people's kids but its on youtube so they have already put it out there.

  1. I always stay in hostels in Tokyo. Just so much cheaper and they're really clean and friendly. (And for once, I got to be that person stumbling in half drunk at 4am waking everybody up. Yeah!) But I were to stay a month I would definitely rent a room somewhere. Good luck with your search!

As for Arashi covers, the one I linked below is CLEARLY the best ever. But I may be biased because I am a huge Takarazuka fangirl and Mizu Natsuki is one of my gods.

  2. I've started at hostels a few times and they've driven me nuts. Stayed in one in Asakusa with walls so thin I thought I'd get knocked up from the couple in the next room having sex!

Osaka seems to have good, cheap hostels though.

  3. Haha, I stayed at the one in Ikebukuro. Didn't have any noise problems. Well, there was a roommate who wouldn't stop trying to talk to me about American politics, but I spent most of my days trolling Ni-chome and shopping in Shibuya...so...

  4. Is that the Sakura one? I stayed there and it pissed me off though I have no memory of why. I think I was just generally pissed off with Ikebukuro for being nothing like the drama Ikebukuro West Gate Park!

Travelling ends up being money vs comfort, doesn't it. I'm such a light sleeper that I'll pay a bit more to get a quiet room. I love Japanese business hotels - full of salarymen so worn out from a day of business travel that they just want to beat off to the adult channel. Quietly.

  5. Love the slip!
I imagine myself coyly crossing my legs and letting my slip show just enough to get the message across.

Perfect excuse to wear a skirt I think. I would have to find dark stockings, less my tattoos distract from the message on my slip.
